'Miramare' stands for Mira and Mare, that denotes 'Sea View' in Italian. It originates from the Miramare Castle, a 19th century castle on the Gulf of Trieste near Trieste, northeastern Italy. It is Miramare, an Italian personification of the great place of the apartments next to the Mediterranean sea, who has inspired us in the naming of our apartments is proud of!
Miramare castle was built from 1856 to 1860 for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian and his wife, Charlotte of Belgium, later Emperor Maximilian I and Empress Carlota of Mexico, based on a design by Carl Junker.
Just 50 meters away from the sandy beach of Platanias, Miramare Platanias Apartments offers air-conditioned studios and apartments with views not only over the deep blue beach of Platanias and the Thodorou Island but also to the well-kept gardens. Miramare Platanias apartments are tastefully decorated in earthy and pastel colours. You can relax, enjoying the sunshine to the private balcony or to the seating/dining area.
Continental breakfast is served daily at Oscar Restaurant (road side) or Wave Restaurant (sea side) which also serves Cretan dishes for lunch and dinner. More seaside taverns and bars can be found within walking distance from the centre of Platanias. Miramare is located 10 km from Chania Town and 30 km from Chania Airport, while Souda Port is at 20 km. The port of Platanias is at 700 metres, while the famous Falassarna Beach is 25 km away. Free private parking is available on site.

Beach:
There is a beautiful 7 kilometer beach with all the standard facilities.The thin golden pink sand of this beach and the trees along the seafront create an exotic setting.You can find water sports. Bus service from Chania every 15minutes.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants next to the sea but if you want a quiet beach just go to Gerani or Maleme.The beach in Platanias area is awarded with the Blue Flag award from the E.U. for several years.
